A Dog Tent Makes Your Canine The King Of The Camp

Defined Tag:

A dog tent is nothing more than a portable version of a dog house. It is a small tent designed for a dog. Like tents for people, these canine tents are made from lightweight, waterproof fabrics. The tent poles are thin yet sturdy aluminum, or more likely, springy nylon poles.

The floor of the dog's tent is rugged waterproof fabric that may have additional padding added for your pup's pleasure. The small size and weight of this type of camping tent may be the origin of the concept of the "pup tent." Like any tent, the entire package folds into a lightweight bundle that is easily carried on a pack.

Why would one need a tent for a dog? If you are planning a camping trip and want to bring your canine companion, his tent will keep him warm and dry. This is especially helpful if the weather brings rain or snow. Your dog's tent also serves as a temporary pen for the dog, preventing his wandering. You may wish to also secure your dog to a tree or stake by running a line under the tent door. Furthermore, human tents are likely to be crowded with air mattresses and cots, leaving little space for the dog.

Secure the tent for your dog exactly as you secure your own. Stake it down properly to prevent wind from moving it. Face the doggie door of the tent so that rain will not run into it. You might even dig a shallow rain diversion trench around it as experienced campers do, especially if you and your dog will be in one location for a long time. Lastly, don't forget to walk the dog before settling him in his tent, and again in the morning.

Canine tents can protect your furry friend during actual camping trips, provide a makeshift crate or bed inside the house, or make a great outdoor summer home for your dog. With lots of imagination, you can probably think of many other unique and creative uses for a dog tent.
