Every surviving military tent has a dramatic story to tell, and such things must not be forgotten.

Modern camping tents have been adapted to resemble their military counterparts. Camouflage patterns and coloring are popular tent styles, especially for hunters. Historical societies that re-enact battles often create and use army tents appropriate to the period. Other than actual military tours, such simulations are one of the only ways the plight of the foot soldier can be experienced.

Another popular use for authentic military tents is for war movies. These films require exact copies of tents, guns, uniforms, and related gear. Through historical and fictional accounts, we learn that a soldier's best friends were his gun and his military tent.
