Ebooks are tremendous resources for so many things. Nearly everyone has some special interests and you can buy literally hundreds of eBooks about your hobbies, games, work, etc., from all over the Internet.

Here are three ebooks that will not cost you anything: (and all of them have the potential to increase your income)

1. Do you ever visit online forums? Learn how to get the maximum benefits from your visits in this free downloadable (and brandable) ebook by Harvey Segal. You can download your copy of "Forum Super Tips" HERE

2. Have you created a web presence with your own website or newsletter? Do you know how to Optimize your subscriber lists?

Download this free ebook to help you develop an "optIn Strategy" the way Ian Herculson did after a disasterous loss of his 10,000+ name list. Get this one at
The OptIn Strategy:

3. In our opinion, the crown jewel of Getting Started Tools is the incredible array of "Masters Courses" offered by the SiteSell University.

If you plan to write a newsletter or ebook, create an affilate theme website, create a website for an existing off-line business, promote your own products from your website, etc., you owe it to yourself to download all of the free Master's Courses from
 Library Section 'D':

We have them ALL. You can have them all, too.

    JUST PLAIN TALK ABOUT VIRUSES

It seems as if the number of Hackers is increasing at an alarming rate. We hear more and more comments from our friends about being infected, and even re-infected by the "Blaster Bug",'So-Big Virus' or many of their variants. Anymore, it's just foolish to use the internet without maximizing your security.

You must have a Firewall. You must have an anti-virus program. You must practice all possible precautions with your email (especially attachments). You must consider every floppy you get from someone else to be a potentially hazardous device.

There are a lot of good Firewall programs and anti-virus programs available at very economical prices. Many are downloadable from the internet and also available on CD's. Whatever way you get them, install them on your systems and 'KEEP THEM UP TO DATE!'

The online services all provide notices of every update. Don't put off downloading them... it's the only safe way to stay current (with hundreds of new viruses being identified every month, you don't have much choice).

But, what can you do right now if you haven't
installed your firewall and anti-virus programs yet?

          Here are a few suggestions:

Get McAfee'e Search and Repair 'Stinger' program from their site. It's free, will fit easily on one floppy, can be used over and over again to check all of the computers you use, even if they aren't connected to the internet. The current edition checks for 31 viruses, trojans and worms.

Get it from McAfee Stinger

Remember please, this checks after-the-fact and not as you are using the internet. It is not a Firewall nor an On-Line virus checker.

However, you can download a free ZoneAlarm Company Firewall program from c|net,
or try this tiny URL:

There are some other major points to consider as you work to increase your security. One very important issue is to have a "Disaster Plan". You may never need it, but from experience, I can tell you that it's an absolutely frustrating experience to take all of the precautions, have all of the software protection tools, and still suffer a
shut-down due to a virus.

How did it get in, you ask?. So did we and the best that we can determine is that we were infected earlier through a Trojan Horse with a timed actuation event.

Here are some things to consider as part of your
"Disaster Plan":

Organize all of your Program CD's and list them with their passwords in a separate off-line book. Keep that book in a very safe place. Make sure that you have the authentication or serial number codes for your software. You'll need them when you reload/restore the programs.

Sometimes, you can actually clean out the viruses
without having to wipe your harddrive. There are tools for this posted in our "What's a Firewall" report. Check them out in the 'Help from symantec' columns.

If you have to wipe your "C" drive and re-install your Operating System, having a backup image of your system on an external harddrive (saved from before the virus attack) will be a great timesaver.
Back up regularly, even keep the harddrive disconnected until you make the backup image.

No doubt, you'll lose most of your current email files. Again, there are backup tools to minimize these loses.Do a Google search. Use the Google Search Box on the Library Page at RichardPresents.com. Search for "email backup" You'll find them.

But, if it's not practical to duplicate your harddrive, (even using an external harddrive) it would be good insurance to save you vital files to a ZIP Disk or CD. (Floppies are usually just too small).

Our policy is to be suspicious of strange email messages, expect the worst, delete unless we know the source.... and sometimes this doesn't even work.

In future discussions, we'll talk more about
Disaster Planning, Remote (Server Side) backup, current virus updates, and new security tools.

In the meantime, read about our latest updates
at What's a Firewall?
